House (The Complete Fifth Season)

Synopsis: DR. GREGORY HOUSE, devoid of bedside manner and dealing with his own constant physical pain, uses a cane that seems to punctuate his acerbic, brutally honest demeanor. His behavior often borders on antisocial, but House is a brilliant diagnostician whose unconventional thinking and flawless instincts afford him a great deal of respect. An infectious disease specialist, he thrives on the challenge of solving medical puzzles in order to save lives.
House shepherds an elite team of young experts who help him unravel diagnostic mysteries: plastic surgeon DR. CHRIS TAUB; enigmatic “contestant” number Thirteen, DR. REMY HADLEY; and enthusiastic, radical-thinking DR. LAWRENCE KUTNER. He has a good friend and confidant in oncology specialist DR. JAMES WILSON, but House maintains a somewhat volatile relationship with DR. LISA CUDDY, the Dean of Medicine and hospital administrator. Though the two are engaged in constant conflict over House’s duties and unconventional behavior, even she would admit that his brilliance is worth the trouble. Neurologist DR. ERIC FOREMAN serves as Cuddy’s eyes and ears on House.
Immunologist DR. ALLISON CAMERON and intensivist DR. ROBERT CHASE are former members of House’s team and no longer have to answer to him now that Cameron heads up Emergency Medicine and Chase works in Surgery at Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital.
Currently in Season Five with more than 100 episodes produced, House and Wilson have repaired their friendship in the aftermath of Amber’s death, Cuddy is fulfilling her dream of motherhood after adopting an infant girl, Foreman has started a relationship with Thirteen who continues to battle the deadly Huntington’s disease that threatens to shorten her lifespan dramatically, while House and Cuddy continue to determine exactly what type of relationship they share — if any.

Lie to Me (Season One)

Synopsis: DR. CAL LIGHTMAN is the world’s leading deception expert. If you lie to Lightman, he’ll see it in your face and your posture or hear it in your voice. If you shrug your shoulder, rotate your hand or even just slightly raise your lower lip, Lightman will spot the lie. By analyzing facial expressions and involuntary body language, he can read feelings ranging from hidden resentment to sexual attraction to jealousy. His work gives him the knowledge and skill set to expertly deceive others as well as detect lies. But as Lightman well knows, his scientific ability is both a blessing and a curse in his personal life, where family and friends deceive each other as readily as criminals and strangers do.
Lightman heads a team of experts at The Lightman Group who assist federal law enforcement, government agencies and local police with their most difficult cases. DR. GILLIAN FOSTER is a gifted psychologist and Lightman’s professional partner who brings balance to the partnership by looking at the bigger picture while Lightman focuses on the details. He needs her guidance and insight into human behavior, whether he knows it or not.
ELI LOKER is Lightman’s lead researcher. He is so uncomfortable with the human tendency to lie that he usually practices what he calls “radical honesty.” He says everything on his mind and often pays the price. RIA TORRES is the newest member of the agency and one of the few “naturals” in the field of deception detection. Her raw, untrained ability to read people makes her a force to be reckoned with.

Cast: Tim Roth, Kelli Williams, Brendan Hines, Monica Raymund

Gibbs, a man of few words, only needs a look to explain it all. The team includes NCIS Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo, an ex-homicide detective who may come off as the world’s oldest frat boy, but whose instincts in the field are unparalleled; forensic specialist Abby Sciuto, a talented scientist whose dark wit matches her Goth style and eclectic tastes, NCIS Special Agent Timothy McGee, an MIT graduate whose brilliance with computers far overshadows his insecurities in the field and Ziva David, a former Mossad agent who shares a bond with Gibbs over the death of his arch nemesis, Ari, the terrorist who killed former NCIS Special Agent Kate Todd. Assisting the team is medical examiner Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard, who knows it all because he’s seen it all, and he’s not afraid to let you know.
