SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE (2009) “Top 4 Perform” Review

This is it! Tonight is the final performance of Season 5 of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, and to be honest I’m not as excited about this season as I was about last season. Don’t get me wrong I still enjoy watching the show and tonight was definitely entertaining. So let’s find out how the Top 4 did.

Top 4

Choreography: Wade Robson
Music: “Boys Boys Boys” by Lady Gaga
Thoughts: That was definitely a fun routine. I just love Wade Robson, I could spend the whole night watching his routines.
Rating: 3/4

Jeanine Mason & Evan KasprzakJazz

Choreography: Sonya Tayeh
Music: “Heartbreaker” by MSTRKRFT ft. John Legend
Thoughts: I really enjoyed the performance.
Rating: 3/4

Kayla Radomski & Brandon BryantBroadway

Choreography: Tyce Diorio
Music: “Bye Bye Love” from All That Jazz (soundtrack)
Thoughts: Wow, in Adam Shankman’s words: “That was so good!”
Rating: 4/4

Brandon Bryant & Evan KasprzakJazz

Choreography: Laurieann Gibson
Music: “Nasty” by Janet Jackson
Thoughts: It was an ok performance, but I really wasn’t crazy about the song. It made the whole thing a little cheesy.
Rating: 2/4

Jeanine Mason & Kayla RadomskiContemporary

Choreography: Mia Michaels
Music: “The Four Sections: IV” by Full Orchestra Steve Reich
Thoughts: That was such a great concept. I loved how they kept taking off their skirts one by one. Another brilliant choreography by Mia Michaels.
Rating: 4/4

Kayla Radomski & Evan KasprzakJive

Choreography: Tony Meredith
Music: “T.R.O.U.B.L.E.” by Travis Tritt
Thoughts: I have to agree with Adam Shankman, this just wasn’t what you would expect for a finale routine. It just wasn’t that exciting.
Rating: 2/4

Jeanine Mason & Brandon BryantPaso Doble

Choreography: Louis Van Amstel
Music: “Tetsujin” from The Matrix Revolutions (Soundtrack)
Thoughts: What a way to end the show! And how can you not love a dance that involves a song from the Matrix soundtrack and even costume that were inspired by the Matrix. I loved it. These two are great together.
Rating: 4/4

What a show that was!

I think that if I had to choose, my two favorites of the night would have to be Jeanine and Brandon. They were just a little stronger than Kayla and Evan.

But we’ll find out tomorrow who America decides to crown America’s Favorite Dancer. I can’t wait!
