Katee Sackhoff and More to Star in 24 Season 8

Katee Sackhoff, Kiefer Sutherland

Katee Sackhoff is leaving the Battlestar Galactica ships behind and joining Jack Bauer in season 8 of 24.

In addition to Katee Sackhoff, Freddie Prinze Jr. (which we previously wrote about here), Mykelti Williamson, John Boyd, Jennifer Westfeldt and Chris Diamantopoulos are also joining the cast of 24 for its eighth season.
In addition, Bollywood icon Anil Kapoor (whom you might remember from “Slumdog Millionaire”) will star as OMAR HASSAN, a Middle Eastern leader who comes to the U.S. on a peacemaking mission.

Season 8 of 24 will once again have a two-night, four-hour premiere starting on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at 9pm on FOX.

I don’t know about you, but this is shaping up to be a pretty great new season.

24 Season 8 Synopsis: Season Eight will unfold in New York City amidst the shadows of the Statue of Liberty and the United Nations. In this new day, CTU has been upgraded and is run by MBA-schooled and razor-sharp head honcho BRIAN HASTINGS (Williamson, “Forrest Gump”). COLE ORTIZ (Freddie Prinze Jr.), an ex-Marine who wants to follow in JACK BAUER’s (Kiefer Sutherland) footsteps, runs the division’s Field Operations. Expert data analyst DANA WALSH (Katee Sackhoff) collaborates with systems analyst ARLO GLASS (John Boyd, “The Notorious Bettie Page”) inside CTU. ROB WEISS (Chris Diamantopoulos, “The Starter Wife”) serves as PRESIDENT ALLISON TAYLOR’s (Cherry Jones) new chief of staff, and MEREDITH REED (Jennifer Westfeldt, “Grey’s Anatomy”) is an ambitious journalist with ties to the unfolding situation.
