AMERICAN IDOL “Top 6 + 1 Performs” Review April 21, 2009 American Idol, Reviews Tonight was disco night on AMERICAN IDOL Season 8. Since Matt has been saved, this week 2 people will go home, the question is was Matt able to redeem himself? Let’s find out how everybody did: Lil Rounds Song: “I’m Every Woman” by Chaka Khan Thoughts: I gotta agree with the judges on that one, Lil just hasn’t been good. And I have to say, she’s just not very likable either. Rating: 1/4 ___________________________________________________ Kris Allen Song: “She Works Hard for Her Money” by Donna Summer Thoughts: Kris Allen keeps impressing me every week. Still at the top of my list. Rating: 4/4 ___________________________________________________ Danny Gokey Song: “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire Thoughts: Danny did ok. I just don’t really care about him that much. Rating: 3/4 ___________________________________________________ Allison Iraheta Song: “Hot Stuff” by Donna Summers Thoughts: Come one, that was an awesome performance! Wow, Allison did a really good job. Loved it! Rating: 4/4 ___________________________________________________ Adam Lambert Song: “If I Can’t Have You” by Yvonne Elliman Thoughts: First of all, I didn’t know it was possible for Adam to outdo himself, but he did. He was brilliant, I had chills. Plus, I love how he always gives credit to the people that helped him prepare his performance. In this case he thanked Michael Orland, who I must agree created a great version of the song for him. Rating: 5/4 (he is once more off the scale) ___________________________________________________ Matt Giraud Song: “Staying Alive” by Bee Gees Thoughts: I thought Matt did ok. I wasn’t blown away, but I enjoyed it. Rating: 3/4 ___________________________________________________ Anoop Desai Song: “Dim All The Lights” by Donna Summer Thoughts: This was another ok performance for me. Not really that exciting. Rating: 2/4 ___________________________________________________ So who do I think will go home this week? I’m going to say Lil Rounds and Anoop or Matt. I guess we’ll find out tomorrow.
