SUPERNATURAL “Death Takes a Holiday” Review

Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles - Supernatural

What did you think of SUPERNATURAL‘s “Death Takes a Holiday”?

I have three words for you: Castiel is back!

Finally, the Angel was back tonight. I was starting to wonder whether we were ever going to see him again.

But before I get too much into that, I have to say it was nice seeing the boys again, doing what they do best. The whole “becoming ghosts” thing was fun, but the best part of the episode was definitely the return of Alister. I know he’s evil and all, but I just love that character. There is just something really fascinating about him. I actually cannot wait to see the face-off between him and Dean that was shown in the preview for next week.

Back to the angels, I was a little surprised at what the Reaper told Dean, that the angels had a plan and that there was no second chances. Well, obviously the angels had a reason for taking Dean out of hell, but the way she said it made it sound like they weren’t the good guys.

My theory was they took him out of hell because of not only the good he would be able to do on Earth, but I thought he also had a bigger destiny and role in the fight between good and evil.

And now that someone else has sort of confirmed that what Sam is doing is bad, I am even more convinced that Dean is there to stop him. Now of course that can be done in different ways, hopefully Dean can stop Sam before he goes too far, but if he does turn evil, then Dean would be the only one who could stop him for good. And maybe that’s another reason the angels brought him back.

What do you guys think? Do you think the angels had an “evil” reason for bringing Dean back? And also who do you think would win in a showdown between Sam and Dean? (I would pick Dean, but he’s my favorite so I guess I’m biased). Share your thoughts below.
