AMERICAN IDOL “Wildcard Show” Review March 5, 2009 American Idol, Reviews Tonight was the Wildcard show on AMERICAN IDOL Season 8. You know I have a feeling the judges had already decided who would make it through tonight before the show, so this is really all for show. But since they did perform, let’s find out how they did and also who ended up making it to the top 12 13. Jesse Langseth Song: “Tell Me Something Good” by Rufus and Chaka Khan Thoughts: Honestly, I didn’t like it. I actually fast-forwarded that performance. I don’t think they should have brought her back. Rating: 2/4 ___________________________________________________ Matt Giraud Song: “Whose Loving You” by The Jackson 5 Thoughts: This is the only person that I want to go through tonight, and he delivered. Wow, Matt is my other favorite along with Adam and Danny. Rating: 4/4 ___________________________________________________ Megan Corkrey Song: “Black Horse and the Cherry Tree” by KT Tunstall Thoughts: I thought Megan was way better than last time, but she hasn’t totally won me over yet. Rating: 3/4 ___________________________________________________ Von Smith Song: “Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word” by Elton John Thoughts: I have to agree with Simon on that one, he is pretty forgettable. Case in point, I forgot what song he performed after watching the next contestant’s performance. Rating: 3/4 ___________________________________________________ Jasmine Murray Song: “Reflection” by Christina Aguilera Thoughts: Jasmine does have a good voice, but for some reason she is just boring to me. I wasn’t entertained or touched by her performance at all. Rating: 3/4 ___________________________________________________ Ricky Braddy Song: “Superstitious” by Stevie Wonder Thoughts: Where did Ricky come from? I hadn’t noticed him before at all, but man that guy is good. I loved that performance so much. I don’t know what Simon and Randy were listening to. Rating: 4/4 ___________________________________________________ Tatiana Nicole Del Toro Song: “Saving All My Love For You” by Whitney Houston Thoughts: Yes Tatiana is a little crazy, but man she can sing her butt off. If you put aside all the craziness, she is really talented. Although, she did sing the same song, so it puts into question whether she can sing anything else. Rating: 3/4 ___________________________________________________ Anoop Desai Song: “My Prerogative” by Bobby Brown Thoughts: I like Anoop, but I didn’t like this performance at all. Rating: 2/4 ___________________________________________________ After the performances it came down to the decision. So who made it? Jasmine Murray, Megan Corkrey, Matt Giraud and Anoop Desai First of all, my DVR cut off the end of the episode so I didn’t see Mat and Anoop getting through (had to look at the press release), and so I don’t know why the judges decided to have a top 13 this year, but hey as long as Matt made it. Second of all I cannot believe Ricky didn’t make it. He was so much better than Megan and Jasmine. Did the judges pick 2 girls so that we had more than 3 in the top 13? What about you guys? Are you happy with the judges’ choices? What do you think of the Top 13?
