First Look: TNT’s THE LIBRARIAN: CURSE OF THE JUDAS CHALICE December 5, 2008 Reviews, TNT On Sunday December 7th at 8pm, TNT will premiere the third Librarian film, THE LIBRARIAN: CURSE OF THE JUDAS CHALICE, starring Noah Wyle reprising his role as the Librarian. That means you need set up your DVR and make sure you don’t miss it. As a fan of the first two films, you can imagine my excitement when earlier this year I heard that there would be a third movie coming out at the end of the year (aka now). And if you haven’t seen the first two Librarian movies yet, well this is your lucky day because TNT will have special encore presentations of the two films before the premiere of The Librarian: Curse of the Judas Chalice. Starting at 4pm (ET/PT), TNT will air THE LIBRARIAN: QUEST FOR THE SPEAR, followed at 6pm (ET/PT) with THE LIBRARIAN: RETURN TO KING SOLOMON’S MINES. Now about this third movie, I have to say that this year seems to be all about vampires. Between Moonlight (which I’ll grant you started last year), True Blood, Twilight, and now The Librarian: Curse of the Judas Chalice, I think it’s safe to say vampires are definitely in. Not that I have anything against that. This time, Flynn (the Librarian) decides to take some time off from “the job,” but things don’t turn out exactly as he had planned them. Noah Wyle once again gives a great performance as Flynn Carsen, The Librarian. There is just something about him in this role that I love. He is sort of an unlikely hero, while he is as smart as Indiana Jones, he is a lot more awkward than Jones, and that makes all the difference. It’s pure fun to watch him tackle this new mystery and of course we meet a new girl in his life, Simone (played by Stana Katic). While I preferred Sonya Walger (whom you might know as Penny in Lost) in The Librarian: Quest for the Spear and Gabrielle Anwar in The Librarian: Return to King Solomon’s Mines, Stana Katic brings a new type of character to this third film, which I think people will enjoy. Overall, expect lots of adventures, fun, and quite an interesting ending. It makes me sad that this apparently will be the end for The Librarian series, it seems that there is so much more to be explored. But who knows, if enough people tune in it might make them want to do another one. So make sure to tune in this Sunday, December 7th, at 8pm and watch The Librarian: Curse of the Judas Chalice on TNT.
