FRINGE Episode 8 “The Equation” Discussion November 18, 2008 Fringe, Reviews Tonight’s episode of Fringe “The Equation” was not my cup of tea. The story was sort of boring. Watching Walter go back to the asylum was not very interesting and looked to me as if it was just an excuse for setting up a future plot line where the asylum director takes custody of Walter. (Yeah sorry but it is kind of obvious that they are setting up the season finale here) I did like the moment when, after ineffectively talking with a mentally unstable patient friend, Walter asked Peter if that’s how it was to talk to him. Funny. Overall, I don’t see what is the big deal with Fringe. If we took JJ Abrams out of the equation, there is really not much behind it. If this was cancelled, I wouldn’t feel exceptionally bad.
