TV Actress of the Day: ANNA TORV


TV Show: Fringe which airs Tuesdays at 9pm on Fox.

Her Character: Olivia Dunham, a young FBI agent who is assigned to investigate the spread of unexplained phenomena and work with Dr. Walter Bishop after her partner, John Scott, is exposed to a flesh-dissolving agent.

Why we like her: Anna Torv is the breakout star of this fall season. Her strong acting skills are enhanced by her irresistible grace which comes across as elegant on the little screen. We foresee great things for her in the future as a leading actress on the big and small screen.

Biography: Anna Torv is a graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Art, Australia’s most prestigious acting college. Since graduating, she has performed with the esteemed Sydney Theatre Company and had regular roles on several of Australia’s acclaimed television dramas, including “The Secret Life of Us” and “Young Lions.” She has also appeared in the highly popular “McLeod’s Daughters.”

Torv’s feature film credits include “Traveling Light” directed by Kathryn Millard and Ana Kokkinos’ “The Book of Revelation” starring opposite fellow Australian Greta Scacchi. Her most recent credits include the BBC television series “Mistresses” and the cable miniseries “The Pacific,” produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks.
Torv divides her time between New York and Brisbane, Australia.
