Lifetime’s new comedy show RITA ROCKS Early Review

Lifetime will premiere five episodes of its new half hour comedy, RITA ROCKS, in one week starting Monday, October 20, through Friday, October 25, at 8:30pm each day. Starting October 28, Rita Rocks will air on Tuesdays at 8:30pm.

Starring Nicole Sullivan (“The King of Queens”), Tisha Campbell-Martin (“My Wife and Kids”) and Richard Ruccolo (“Joey,” “Two Guys and a Girl”), Rita Rocks tells the story of Rita Clemens, a married working mom, unfulfilled by her married life, who tries to regain her identity by recreating her glory days as a musician in a garage band.

I was able to take a look at the pilot as well as another episode of Rita Rocks, “You Gotta Have Friends,” and I found it sweet and entertaining. This is a great family show and I think that lots of parents will enjoy watching Rita Rocks with their children.

Although it is not usually the type of half hour show that I watch on a regular basis, it is the kind that I enjoy watching if it happens to be on TV when I am watching.

I was also very impressed by how good of a voice Tisha Campbell-Martin and Nicole Sullivan both have, which makes the musical scenes very enjoyable.

I am also happy to see Richard Ruccolo back on TV, I have been a fan of his ever since Two Guys and a Girl (when is that coming out on DVD by the way!).

Overall, I think Rita Rocks is going to appeal to Lifetime’s audience. Don’t forget to tune in!
