Lifetime’s Original Movie LIVING PROOF Early Review

Lifetime premieres its original movie, LIVING PROOF, tonight, October 18, at 9pm.

Living Proof tells the true story of Dr. Dennis Slamon, the UCLA doctor who helped develop the breast cancer drug, Herceptin. The movie shows how his fight to keep the drug trials running saved and changed numerous lives.

What an emotional roller coaster that movie was. I was really touched by the story and all the characters. I didn’t know anything about Dr. Dennis Slamon, but his dedication was really inspiring.

Harry Connick, Jr. is really great in this part. He balances the character’s drive to find a cure with empathy perfectly.

Swoosie Kurtz (who plays aunt Lily in Pushing Daisies) has some really powerful scenes. What a wonderful actress.

All the actresses who played women with breast cancer were incredible. You could feel their pain.

Overall, I think this was a very beautiful and inspiring movie and it is definitely worth watching.

The cast of Living Proof includes Harry Connick, Jr., Tammy Blanchard, Amanda Bynes, Jennifer Coolidge, Angie Harmon, John Benjamin Hickey, Regina King, Swoosie Kurtz, Paula Cale Lisbe, Amy Madigan, Bernadette Peters, Trudi Styler.

Don’t forget to tune in tonight, October 18, at 9pm on Lifetime.
