HBO’s TRUE BLOOD Renewed for a Second Season

True Blood - Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer

I was just informed that HBO’s TRUE BLOOD was picked up for a Second Season!

Talk about a great news to start out the day!

The second season will begin production early next year, and it will air during the summer of 2009.

Here is what Michael Lombardo, president, Programming Group and West Coast Operations for HBO, had to say:

“We are absolutely thrilled that the critics and our viewers have embraced TRUE BLOOD,” noted Lombardo. “Alan Ball has done it again – made an addictive series that is unlike any other.”

“I am thrilled to be able to continue to work with such a talented group of writers, cast and crew to explore the characters and world created by Charlaine Harris in her novels,” Ball said. “It really is a joy to go to work every day and I couldn’t be happier to be back home at HBO.”

I said it and I say it again, True Blood is my favorite show on TV right now (and that’s saying a lot since I only saw two episodes, but it captured me like no other show did, although Supernatural is very close), and now I get to enjoy another season of it. Yay!

Are you guys as excited as I am about this news?
