FRINGE “Pilot” (S1E01) WDYT? September 9, 2008 Fringe, Reviews J.J. Abrams’ new show, FRINGE, finally aired its pilot tonight. What Did You Think? To me Fringe wasn’t the excitement that Lost was when I first saw it, but it was really good. First we get the plane, which seems to be a favorite of J.J. Abrams, but it was ok because not only did it set the stage for a great storyline, it had nothing to do with the plane from Lost. Then we meet the three main character, Olivia, Peter, and Dr. Walter Bishop. Since there was no way I wasn’t going to like Joshua Jackson in this (he’s just awesome), I guess it’s really about whether I liked the other two characters. And I did, especially Dr. Bishop, there is so much potential with that character, that I am looking forward to his future storylines. As for the format of the show, I think it’s something that I will enjoy. As J.J. Abrams explained in a recent conference call, Fringe will be very ER-like in its format, mixing “cases of the week” with the overall arch of the characters and story. Overall, I really enjoyed the premiere and think it’s a great show. And I will of course keep watching. But what I really want to know is, after all the hype, What Did You Think of “Fringe”?
