DVD Review: WAYSIDE SCHOOL Season One

Wayside School Season One DVD

Season One of WAYSIDE SCHOOL is now available on DVD. Based on the best-selling books by Louis Sachar, Wayside School tells the story of one unusual school and its quirky students and teachers.

Synopsis: The half-hour animated show brings to life the wacky tales of students on the top floor of Wayside, a quirky grammar school that was accidentally built 30-stories high. Join Todd, the new kid, as he enters a school where cows roam free, class elections are decided by a game of dodgeball, and falling asleep in class is not only okay, but encouraged. As Todd’s new teacher Mrs. Jewls is fond of saying, “students can learn so much when they are asleep.” WAYSIDE SCHOOL is more than just another classroom comedy – it is a fantastic, defiant romp through the peculiar twists and turns of kid logic.

This is such a great title to enjoy with your children (or even by yourself…shhht we promise we won’t tell). The characters are really fun and each storyline amusing. I found myself actually looking forward to finding out what crazy adventure Mrs. Jewls’ class would be going on each episode.

The DVD includes all 13 episodes from season one. And as a bonus, the DVD comes packaged with one of the Sideways Stories from Wayside School books. That’s a great gift for the children! Any birthdays coming up?
