Review: SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE “Top 10 Perform” July 16, 2008 Reviews, So You Think You Can Dance First of all, I love that Lil’ C is one of the judges. Ok, so tonight on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE we switch partners and add solos. So let’s find out how the Top 10 did: Joshua Allen & Courtney Galiano #1 – Hip Hop Choreography: Dave Scott Music: “Skippin'” by Mario Thoughts: That was so awesome! Courtney and Joshua worked really well together. Loved it! Rating: 4/4 Video: #2 – Rumba Choreography: Jean-Marc Genereux Music: “Hero” by Enrique Iglesias Thoughts: Well, that was sexy and hot! Joshua and Courtney are really good together. Rating: 4/4 Video: Kherington Payne & Mark Kanemura #1 – Two Step Choreography: Ronnie DeBenedetta and Brandi Tobias Music: “Kick Back” by Ty England Thoughts: That was pretty bad, I was falling asleep. They had no energy and it felt really amateurish. Not a great start for this couple. Rating: 2/4 Video: #2 – Jazz Choreography: Tyce DiOrio Music: “Canned Heat” by Jamiroquai Thoughts: I don’t know what is up with this couple, but I totally agree with the judges, there was just nothing there. I didn’t really enjoy it and I didn’t feel there was any passion coming from either of them. Rating: 2/4 Video: Twitch Boss & Comfort Fedoke #1 – Smooth Waltz Choreography: Hunter Johnson Music: “Open Arms” by Journey Thoughts: I actually enjoyed that. I know the judges didn’t think it was great, but I thought Comfort looked really good and Twitch was not too bad either. Rating: 3/4 Video: #2 – Hip Hop Choreography: Dave Scott Music: “Forever” by Chris Brown Thoughts: Now that was cool! Two hip hop dancers together, loved it! Rating: 4/4 Video: Katee Shean & William Wingfield #1 – Broadway Choreography: Tyce DiOrio Music: “Sit Down You’re Rockin’ The Boat” by Sam Harris from Guys and Dolls Thoughts: OMG, I love these two together and the choreography and performance, that was awesome! Rating: 4/4 Video: #2 – Pas de Deux Choreography: Desmond Richardson and Dwight Roden Music: “Imagine” by David Archuletta Thoughts: First of all, I see that there is a little crossing with American Idol! About the performance, man Katee and William, what a great couple. I loved them! Rating: 4/4 Video: Gev Manoukian & Chelsie Hightower #1 – Contemporary Choreography: Sonya Tayeh Music: “There Arms of Mine” by Otis Redding Thoughts: That was so cool! I really loved the choreography and the two of them were great. Great emotion. Great everything! Rating: 4/4 Video: #2 – Jive Choreography: Jean-Marc Genereux Music: “The House Is Rockin'” by Brian Setzer Thoughts: First of all did you guys see Jean-Marc Genereux and France dancing in the video? OMG how amazing are they? Well that puts everything in perspective for me. I mean Gev and Chelsie did not hit it as hard as Jean-Marc and France did. That said, I thought Chelsie totally outdanced Gev, she was really good. I’m not sure about Gev, but the performance was pretty entertaining. Rating: 3/3 Video: SOLOS Chelsie Hightower Music: “Pon de Replay” by Rihanna Thoughts: It’s hard to judge her solo, because the genre just doesn’t look that exciting when dancing by yourself. Video: Gev Manoukian. Music: “Hello/Goodbye (Uncool)” by Lupe Fiasco feat. Unkle Thoughts: I think Gev is really good at dancing solos and this was another good one. Video: Courtney Galiano Music: “I Want You To Need Me” by Celine Dion Thoughts: Wow, that girl has passion. She has really grown on me. Go Courtney! Video: Mark Kanemura Music: “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen Thoughts: Mark is so awesome, I have been looking forward to his solos since the auditions. How awesome was this?! Video: Comfort Fedoke Music: “Need A Boss” by Shareefa feat. Ludacris Thoughts: I think this is my favorite solo from Comfort. It was really cool. Video: Twitch Boss Music: “I Question Mark” by Wade Robson Thoughts: It was ok. To be honest I was expecting more from Twitch. Video: Katee Shean Music: “This Woman’s Work” by Maxwell (MTV Unplugged) Thoughts: I love Katee, she is my favorite of the girls. Such a beautiful solo. Video: William Wingfield Music: “Dance With My Father” by Luther Vandross Thoughts: Will keeps impressing me week after week. He is such an incredible dancer. I just love watching him dance. Video: Kherington Payne Music: “Breakin’ Dishes” by Rihanna Thoughts: My least favorite solo of the night. I didn’t really feel it. Video: Joshua Allen Music: “Jam” by Michael Jackson Thoughts: Joshua is just awesome! Love him! Great solo! Video: What a great night! And Comfort did an excellent job replacing Jessica. Now the hard part comes tomorrow when we get the first elimination decided by America. I guess we’ll find out tomorrow who leaves this week. I think I’m too tired to pick my bottom two.
