Review: AMERICAN IDOL “3 Finalists Compete”

And it’s down to the top 3 on AMERICAN IDOL. Each contestant had three songs to perform. One chosen by one of the judges, one that they picked themselves, and the last one picked by the producers.

Let’s find out how they did:

1. David Archuleta

David Archuleta

Thoughts: “And So It Goes” – Pretty good. Just what we have come to expect from David Archuleta.

“With You” – That was pretty bad. David Archuleta was totally missing the soul of the song. I didn’t like it at all. Not the right song for him.

“Longer” – Very nice. I think this is my favorite of the night for him.

Rating: “And So It Goes” – 3/4

“With You” – 1/4

“Longer” – 3/4

2. Syesha Mercado

Syesha Mercado

Thoughts: “If I Ain’t Got You” – I didn’t like this performance that much. I thought it was too much like a copycat of the original.

“Fever” – Not great. Tonight Syesha is not doing too good.

“Hit Me Up” – This really seemed just amateurish to me. I didn’t like it at all.

Rating: “If I Ain’t Got You” – 2/4

“Fever” – 2/4

“Hit Me Up” – 1/4

3. David Cook

David Cook

Thoughts: “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” – Wow, I mean wow! This isn’t even a competition anymore, it’s all about David Cook for me.

“I Dare You To Move” – OMG I absolutely love this song and I am so happy David Cook picked it. It’s just too bad that it was so short.

“I Don’t Want To Miss a Thing” – Another one of my favorite songs and great performance. David Cook absolutely won the night.

Rating: “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” – 4/4

“I Dare You To Move” – 3/4

“I Don’t Want To Miss a Thing” – 4/4

Who’s going home? Well this one is a no brainer, I already said it last week and tonight confirmed it, Syesha Mercado is going home tomorrow.

Now it’s all about which David is going to win.
