USA Network Upfronts Quick Takes April 28, 2008 News, USA Daemon’s TV was invited to the USA Network Upfronts that took place April 3 in Los Angeles. Here is a summary of what we learned there: We spoke with Debra Messing from the hit show The Starter Wife about the show being picked up as a full-fledged series. She admitted being happily surprised about it but that she’s looking forward to the new season. According to Messing, in the new season, the story picks up a year later and brings new challenges to Debra’s character, Molly. We also chatted with beautiful Gabrielle Anwar, who plays Fiona Glenanne on Burn Notice. She let us know that the show was beginning production at the end of March. She hadn’t read anything about the new season yet. Taylor Howard, who plays Natalie Teeger on Monk, also swung by to talk about the new season of Monk and her experiences on the set. Although it was strange for her to join such an established show, she felt really comfortable working with the cast and the crew. She credits the writers and Tony Shaloub for bringing the originality of the show. Production will resume this May. Timothy Omundson, who plays Detective Lassiter on Psych, stopped by for a chat as well. He’s looking forward to the new season as well. He mentioned the long drive back to Vancouver (where the show is filmed) while listening to podcasts and NPR. Finally, we spoke with Fred Weller, who plays Marshall Mann on the new USA Network show In Plain Sight. He spoke about his multi-faceted character and also the very original format of the show which is a strange mix of comedy, action and drama. We will have more news about In Plain Sight, which premieres in June, soon.
