Procedural Update: BONES – “The Man in The Mud” (S3E10) Review

BONES - David Boreanaz as Booth and Emily Deschanel as Brennan

BONES is taking on an interesting case surrounding remains found in a hot and steamy mud bath in the middle of the woods ….So here is our review of this latest Bones adventure “The Man in The Mud”:

The Good
The Sweets storyline was really amusing to me. How the entire shrink-patient got turned on its head was funny to watch, albeit strongly unlikely to occur in real life. Also, I liked how someone finally acknowledged the weird chemistry between Zach and Camille. Come on, was it just me or what? Who wants to take bets that these two will start dating soon.

The Bad
For once, I was dissapointed to see that the suspects were played by pretty average guest stars except for the lawyer played by Michael Connor Gainey (From Lost). Plus there was no one who was officially crowned King of the Lab in this episode.

The Ugly
Now, I typically don’t mind when procedurals play musical chairs with crime suspects. After all, the point is to keep us guessing. But my god, could they have at least come up with some stronger evidence than what they had before bringing them in? A hair? Really? That’s the best you can come up with? Is it too much to ask to make the story lines a tinsy winsy more believable. I say this as a fan of the show, please, come up with better evidence.

Overall, this was a an average Bones episode. Some strong moments, some less than strong moments. Needless to say, I expect more for next week.
