Review: AMERICAN IDOL – “Top 12 Girls” February 21, 2008 American Idol, Reviews So last the girls were performing and as the Top 12 took the stage on AMERICAN IDOL season 7, I have to say that the night was not as good as the boys’ night. By they end of it, I was pretty bored. So far, I don’t really think anybody stands out to me, although there were some good performances. So what did I think of each contestant? Read my review of the night below which includes my thoughts on each contestants, the song they sang, and my rating. 1. Kristy Lee Cook Song: “Rescue Me” by Fontella Bass get it on Thoughts: That was pretty bad and boring. I agree with what Simon said. If she doesn’t step up, she won’t make it. Rating: 2/4 Video: 2. Joanne Borgella Song: “I Say A Little Prayer” by Aretha Franklin get it on Thoughts: Well, I didn’t really like. I don’t think the song suited her voice. Probably won’t make it to top 12. Rating: 2/4 Video: 3. Alaina Whitaker Song: “More Today Than Yesterday” by Spiral Starecase get it on Thoughts: Damn the girl can sing. The first one of the night that actually made me pay attention. Rating: 3/4 Video: 4. Amanda Overmyer Song: “Baby, Please Don’t Go” by Van Morrison get it on Thoughts: I have liked her since the auditions, but I’m not sure the choice of song was the best. She is still one of my favorites. Rating: 2/4 Video: 5. Amy Davis Song: “Where the Boys Are” by Connie Francis get it on Thoughts: Pretty bad. It was hard to listen to. I don’t think she will be here next week. Rating: 1/4 Video: 6. Brooke White Song: “Happy Together” by The Turtles get it on Thoughts: My favorite of the night so far. I really didn’t expect to like her that much, but it was great. She has such a sweet voice, I think she has a shot to make it to the top 12. Rating: 4/4 Video: 7. Alexandréa Lushington Song: “Spinning Wheel” by Blood, Sweat & Tears get it on Thoughts: That girl is a performer. I liked it, it was really good. I am so shocked Simon didn’t like it. Rating: 3/4 Video: 8. Kady Malloy Song: “Groovy Kind of Love” by The Mindbenders get it on Thoughts: Ok so I had high hopes for Kady Malloy but I don’t think she just hit it quite right. I still like her and want to see more, but that was not a great performance. Rating: 2/4 Video: 9. Asia’h Epperson Song: “Piece of My Heart” by Janis Joplin get it on Thoughts: I really liked her performance. Asia’h is going to be sticking around this week. Rating: 3/4 Video: 10. Ramiele Malubay Song: “You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me” by get it on Thoughts: Wow, she is amazing! She is absolutely making the top 12. Rating: 4/4 Video: 11. Syesha Mercado Song: “Tobacco Road” by David Lee Roth get it on Thoughts: Syesha is now one of my favorites. That was a great performance. Rating: 4/4 Video: 12. Carly Smithson Song: “The Shadow of Your Smile” by Tony Bennett get it on Thoughts: The vocals were really nice and Carly can definitely sing, but I have to admit, after 2 hours of the show, I was kind of bored by the song. Rating: 3/4 Video: My favorites were: Brooke White, Ramiele Malubay, and Syesha Mercado Who’s going home? I would say Amy Davis and Kristy Lee Cook (or maybe Joanne Borgella) Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Google+ (Opens in new window)Click to share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)
