SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE – Top 18 Review June 20, 2007 Reviews, So You Think You Can Dance What an amazing night! Almost every couple did pretty good. I don’t know who to eliminate… Tomorrow is going to be a hard night… Quick thoughts: My favorite: Danny & Anya. My least favorite: Lauren & Neil RECAP: LAUREN GOTTLEIB & NEIL HASKELL – Hip Hop Choreography: Dave Scott Music: “The Way I Are” by Timbaland featuring Keri Hilson & D.Q.E. get it on Thoughts:I didn’t really think Lauren was that good, no flavor for me. Neil was actually better than her. The outfit did not say hip hop at all which didn’t help. Rating: 3/5 Video: JESSI PERALTA & PASHA PKOVALEV – Jazz Choreography: Tyce Diorio Music: “Stiff Jazz” by dZihan and Kamien get it on Thoughts: I have to admit, I was not fond of the choreography, but I really like Pasha and I think him and Jessi did a really good job. Rating: 4/5 Video: JAIMIE GOODWIN & HOK KONISHI – Samba Choreography: Jean-Marc Genereux Music: “Bang Bang to the Rock ‘n Roll” by Gabin get it on Thoughts: One of my favorite couple. I was so impressed by Hok, who would have known he could be that good at samba? Even though the judges didn’t think it was good technically, I don’t think any average person would notice. Rating: 4/5 Video: SABRA JOHNSON & DOMINIC SANDOVAL – Contemporary Choreography: Mandy Moore Music: “I’ll Stand By You” by The Pretenders get it on Thoughts: Sabra is such a beautiful dancer, she is so graceful, I really like her. Dominic impressed me. No formal training?! Are you kidding me?! He is amazing. Rating: 4/5 Video: FAINA SAVICH & CEDRIC GARDINER – Foxtrot Choreography: Hunter Johnson Music: “You’re The Boss” by Elvis Presley & Ann-Margret get it on Thoughts: It seemed to me like Faina was Cedric’s teacher instead of his partner. Didn’t really work for me. But Faina was flawless. Rating: 3/5 Video: LACEY SCHWIMMER & KAMERON BINK – Broadway Choreography: Tyce Diorio Music: “Overture/And All That Jazz” from Chicago (soundtrack) get it on Thoughts: Love Brodaway. Love Lacey and Kameron. Love the performance. That’s about it. Rating: 4/5 Video: DANNY TIDWELL & ANYA GARNIS – Viennese Waltz Choreography: Hunter Johnson Music: “You and Me” by Lifehouse get it on Thoughts: Amazing! That was so beautiful! It felt like they were floating. And I wasn’t even that impressed last week. My only negative point was: What was Anya wearing? That outfit has to go. Rating: 5/5 Video: SHAUNA NOLAND & JIMMY ARGUELLO – Hip Hop Choreography: Dave Scott Music: “U Sexy Girl” by Fat Man Scoop featuring Elephant Man & Jabba get it on Thoughts: I actually liked this one. I enjoy both Shauna and Jimmy, I think they’re a great couple. Plus they were my third favorite last week. Rating: 4/5 Video: SARA VON GILLEM & JESUS SOLARIO – Paso Doble Choreography: Jean-Marc Genereux Music: “We Will Rock You (bonus remix)” by Queen get it on Thoughts: WOW, Jesus was amazing. This is one of my favorite couple. Sarah did look a little bit awkward, but I still think she did very good.
