What is Bored To Death About?

BORED TO DEATH follows a struggling thirtysomething Brooklyn writer, Jonathan Ames, who not only has a drinking problem, but is trying to cope with his recent breakup with his girlfriend. He decides to emulate his heroes from the novels of Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett and starts pretending to be a private detective, solving some cases and making others worse.
