Bones Season 10 Review “The Corpse at the Convention” – Booth Has Some Advice for Wendell October 31, 2014 Bones, Reviews In this episode of Bones, called “The Corpse at the Convention,” Hodgins is accused of murder yet again, while Booth gives a pep talk to a friend in need. Poor Hodgins, the guy just can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to being a murder suspect. Of course we all knew he hadn’t done it, but I was curious to see how the evidence would end up proving that. Speaking of which, was anyone else puzzled by the fact that he was allowed to keep working on the case? I would’ve thought that would be a big no-no. I totally predicted that the killer would be one of the forensic geeks trying to sell their inventions to the team. I cracked up when they went to the convention and were treated like celebrities. I wasn’t all that surprised to see Brennan get that kind of attention, but it was fun to see the rest of the squints get noticed, too. In the end, the King of the Lab was found innocent, just as we knew he would. One of my favorite scenes in this episode actually had nothing to do with the case. I was excited to see Wendell back, but as soon as he went missing after his appointment I was just as scared as the rest of the team. I didn’t think he would come back only to have something awful happen to him, but you never know. I got why he freaked out after hearing the news about his friend. That’s not the kind of phone call you want to get when you are basically in the same boat. That’s when Booth stepped in. I thought it meant a lot that Booth opened up to Wendell like that. He doesn’t talk about that part of his life very often and I thought it was great that he was willing to broach that subject to help a friend. It’s awful to think that Booth went through something as terrible as watching 12 of his friends die one after the other, but it was good that he was able to share that. I wonder if doing so didn’t help Booth just as much as it helped Wendell. My favorite bits: The Schrodinger cat joke. I totally laughed. Booth has no sense of humor. Booth with the spray whipped cream. Too cute. Loving that all the squints were getting treated like celebrities at the convention. Whoa. I’m not used to seeing Hodgins that angry. Definitely need to know what happened with that Dr. Saunders chick. “I’m researching a new book.” “A novel approach. You’ve never researched any of your other books.” I’m with Cam. Does everyone in that place hate each other, because it sure looks like it. What the heck kind of fire extinguisher was that? Booth asking where his lamp was. Ha! Yay!! Wendell is back. “Do you have any idea who I am?” “Yeah, I do. My carwash sells your books.” Booth informing Tess that she was not going to use the murder to sell her books. The two guys fighting over which products the teams would use. Now I’m starting to suspect one or both of them. What better way to sell your wares than create a case where they are needed? OMG! I knew the victim would be Dr. Saunders. “I feel terrible because I don’t feel terrible.” “This is the third time I’ve been a murder suspect. It makes me want to kill someone so you don’t waste your time.” Booth referring to their suspect as “Cinderalla.” “It looks like the organ gods are smiling down on us. I’ve got a stomach.” – And of course it was gross and disgusting. But yay for the organ gods. “I’m a big fan of remission.” “We all are.” Of COURSE the DNA matches Hodgins. He has the worst luck with this sort of thing. Booth actually defending Aubrey questioning Hodgins. Hodgins (almost) flipping Aubrey the bird. Brennan informing Wendell that he was no use to her if his cancer came back and he died. For Brennan that’s definitely an “aw” moment. Now that’s one heck of a love triangle. Harkness cheated on Tess with Leona? Aldus trying to prove how good he was at his job by telling Hodgins he had broken into the lab. Probably not the best idea. The two forensic nerds getting into a fist fight in the lab. The look on Hodgins face when he realized he just proved he didn’t have an alibi either. Oops. Finding out that someone in Wendell’s trial died. Booth telling Wendell about seeing 12 of his friends killed in front of him. Wow. “You got dealt a bad hand. Deal with it.” Booth telling Wendell to keep fighting because he didn’t need to see another brother die. I know he was talking about Sweets in that moment, too. Ha! Called it. I had a feeling it would be Aldus or the other guy. I love it when I’m right. Aldus still trying to sell his wares from prison and Brennan totally on board with it. “Sometimes people doubt how strong they really are.” Booth’s face when everyone cracked up at Brennan’s joke. I knew they’d like it! What did you think of this episode of Bones? Got any favorite bits or least favorite bits of your own? Sound off in the comments below, I love hearing from you guys! They are great. Mokibobolink Aw thanks! So glad you enjoy the reviews. diane Seriously, where are Booth and Brennan? They are the two lead characters; (that the show was built around) why have they not been in many scenes together lately? They are supposed to be “the center” of the show, and if they spend the entire episode in seperate corners, it ruins the show – and we certainly don’t get to see that special chemistry! We are still not getting to see any romance between the two – no kisses, hugs, or sweet little touches! We have not seen a kiss sice the first episode! They are usually across the table from each other when we do see them. Aubrey has taken Brennan’s place as Booth’s partner, as he is in more scenes with Booth than she is! How can folks be satisfied with this, when B&B’s relationship/chemisry was what captivated the audience in the first place?! You cannot basically remove the heart and soul from a popular show, and expect people to rejoice!! Please pass this on to Mr. Nathan!
