‘Mind Games’ Cancelled by ABC

Mind Games Episode 4 Apophenia (8)

It’s official: Christian Slater is a show killer.

EW confirms ABC has cancelled freshman series Mind Games after just five episodes. Mind Games starred Slater and Steve Zahn as brothers who helped people through psychological manipulation techniques. This is the fourth series starring Slater to be cancelled in the past six years.

But wait, the plot thickens, perhaps Slater is not the show killer, bur rather poor Kyle Killen. Killen created Mind Games, as well as Lone Star and Awake, none of which finished their first season runs (although Awake was treated to a courtesy burn-off due to its critical acclaim). Either way, effectively immediately, Mind Games has been pulled from the schedule and its Tuesday nights at 10PM timeslot will be filled with Resurrection repeats for now.

Sabienna is a freelance writer, pop culture junkie and unabashed fangirl. She blames an early exposure to The X-Files and the Must See TV era of NBC for her twin life-long loves of sci-fi and sitcoms. She's not sure where her all-consuming love for all things British came from, but it led her to Doctor Who so she doesn't complain.

This comes as no shock as steve zhans character was entirely overacted, there’s a line between odd and sympathetic and just out of your mind insane to the point of where it’s sad to watch, in this show it was sadly the latter. They should have taken a page from perception, they really know how to tote that line.
