Cinemax’s First ‘The Knick’ Teaser Features a Frightening Clive Owen

If you think going to the hospital is scary now, just wait until you see the first teaser for Cinemax’s upcoming period drama The Knick starring Clive Owen. It’s never comforting to see your doctor wearing that much blood. In fact it is the direct opposite of comforting.

Executive produced by Steven Soderbergh (Magic Mike), The Knick is set in New York at the beginning of the 20th century. The series will focus on the advances made by the doctors and nurses at Knickerbocker Hospital who treated patients in a time when the mortality rates were astonishing. That doesn’t entirely explain why the teaser is shot like a horror movie ad, but I’m sure Cinemax had their reasons. See it for yourself below. Would you want to check in at the Knickerbocker?

The Knick premieres Summer 2014 on Cinemax.
