BBC America Changes ‘Ripper Street’ Season 2 Premiere Date

Poor Ripper Street season two is having a hard time getting itself a steady airdate stateside. First, BBC America had it on the docket for December, then it was set for Wednesdays in February, and now BBC America has released news the series’ final season will air Saturdays beginning February 22nd at 9PM.

The new season will find Detective Inspector Edmund Reid (Matthew MacFayden, Anna Karenina) and his loyal deputies Detective Sergeant Bennet Drake (Jerome Flynn, Game of Thrones) and Captain Homer Jackson (Adam Rothenberg, Elementary), still working hard to keep the East End of London safe. The Ripper is long gone, but season two will bring a whole new set of cases for the officers to explore including a “drug scourge of an imperial nature, a female gang set on vengeance against their industrial tormentors, escaped bombers, subversive cult Svengalis and a mad eugenicist that stalks the circus freak shows for prey.” New cast members for season two include David Costabile (Breaking Bad), Damien Molony (Being Human), Joseph Mawle (Game of Thrones) and Leanne Best (Wire in the Blood).

Once again, Ripper Street season two will now premiere Saturday, February 22nd at 9pm on BBC America.
