Hulu Announces Science Fiction Digital Series ‘State of Syn’ Starring Firefly’s Jewel Staite Premiere Date

Hulu’s next original series is set to test the boundaries of digital distribution. State of Syn is a 3D-enabled science fiction motion comic starring Jewel Staite (Firefly) and David Hewlett (Stargate SG-1, Stargate: Atlantis). The style of the series is as important as the sci-fi tropes it plans to explore.

Consisting of 10 five-minute episodes, State of Syn is set in a futuristic society where technology is the only commodity that remains stable. Annika Drake (Staite) and her friends will be drawn into a complex mystery involving her father’s tech company Psylosense following his death. The company, now led by Aslin Kane (Hewlett), starts producing a highly addictive sensory experience called Vibe.

State of Syn premieres January 18th on Hulu.
