AMC’s The Walking Dead has cast ‘Greek’ alum Andrew J. West, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed. West, who is known for his role in the ABC Family series as Fisher, joins the recently cast Michael Cudlitz, Josh McDermitt and Christian Serratos, who have boarded the hit zombie series in the roles of Abraham, Eugene and Rosita.
West will portray the role of Gareth. His character’s storyline in the show is currently being kept under wraps. West’s Gareth does not originate from the pages of the Robert Kirkman comic series. He will reportedly show up in the second half of the fourth season. According to THR, he is a “remix of sorts of an unidentified character from the series” who has the potential to become a series regular.
Aside from his ‘Greek’ roots, West is best known for his previous roles in the comedy series ‘Suburgatory’, the TV movie ‘Who Gets the Parents’, ‘Castle’, ‘Body of Proof’, ‘The Whole Truth’ and the crime drama ‘CSI’.
Season four will also include Larry Gilliard Jr. (Bob), Chad Coleman (Tyreese), Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha) and Emily Kinney (Beth), who have all been promoted to series regulars. ‘The Walking Dead’ airs on AMC, Sundays at 9 p.m.
