The Canadian police procedural Motive, which debuted on ABC this past summer, will be coming back to the network for a second season next summer according to a report at The Hollywood Reporter.
‘Motive’ focuses on Vancouver homicide detective Angie Flynn (series lead Kristin Lehman), who tracks down the most cunning of killers by trying to figure out the motive to the crime. Her partner, Detective Oscar Vega, is played by Louis Ferreira while the rest of the cast includes Brendan Penny (‘Stargate Atlantis’), Roger Cross (’24′ and ‘Continuum’), Cameron Bright (the ‘Twilight Saga’ films) and Lauren Holly (‘NCIS’). Season two will see the additions of actor Warren Christie (‘Alphas’) and actress Valerie Tian (‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager’) to the cast.
This series isn’t the only summer program to receive a renewal order, as ABC renewed Canadian import ‘Rookie Blue’ and ‘Mistresses’
Production on season two of ‘Motive’ recently got underway in Vancouver with the series set to air in early 2014 on Canada’s CTV; and again, will air here in the States in the summer of 2014.
