Actor John Barrowman will be returning to the CW’s Arrow. According to TV Line, Barrowman has booked a return trip to the series’ second season to reprise his role as Malcolm Merlyn, known best to fans as the The Dark Archer.
The news of Barrowman’s upcoming guest role comes after speculation surrounding his character erupted over the summer at Comic-Con in San Diego when the actor made an appearance on the ‘Arrow’ panel. How showrunners plan to reintroduce Barrowman’s villainous character is unknown after his suspected death in season one.
Barrowman is expected to appear in two episodes in what the ‘Torchwood’ actor previously teased could be in the form of flashbacks. He joins the recently cast Dylan Neal of ‘Dawson’s Creek’ fame who will portray Dr. Anthony Ivo in the new season.
‘Arrow’ star Stephen Amell has promised when the series debuts fans will see Oliver in a whole new place after the shocking death of Tommy and the destruction of the Glades. Amell also hinted that the hooded superhero will be confused about where he stands after he lets his city down. ‘Arrow’ season 2 will premiere on the CW, October 9.
