The Lifetime network has announced the official premiere date for Witches of East End, starring Julia Ormond (Mad Men), Madchen Amick (Damages), Jenna Dewan Tatum (Step Up) and Rachel Boston (In Plain Sight). The freshman drama will air this fall on Sunday, October 6 in Lifetime’s 10pm timeslot.
‘Witches of East End’ revolves around the Beauchamp women, a mother (Ormond) and her two daughters (Tatum, Boston), who are unaware that they are immortal witches. Ormond’s alter ego will be forced to tell her daughters the truth about their heritage when an estranged aunt comes to their small town, warning them of an enemy out to end the family line. The series is an adaptation of writer Melissa de la Cruz’s best selling novel of the same name.
Eric Winter (The Mentalist), Daniel DiTomasso (CSI), Jason George (Grey’s Anatomy) and Oscar and Virginia Madsen (Anna Nicole), will also star in the second scripted drama picked up by the women’s network. Mark Walters will direct with a script from Maggie Friedman.
Friedman will also serve as an executive producer on the series along with ER’s Jonathan Kaplan, Erwin’s Stoff (The Matrix) and Josh Reims of ‘Brothers & Sisters’.
