‘Once Upon A Time’ Finds New Robin Hood

With the original Robin Hood, Tom Ellis (Merlin, Miranda), too busy to recur in season three, TV Line reveals that Once Upon a Time has found a new actor to take on the role. Popular British actor Sean Maguire will be filling in as the ‘steal from the rich, give to the poor’ vigilante who first appeared in season two’s “Lacey.”

Maguire will be on-board for a recurring arc, so expect to see at least a little bow and arrow action next season. There’s no word yet on whether his arc will involve Storybrooke, which is running low on citizens with the Charmings, Regina, Rumple and Hook all off to Neverland to find Henry, or if he’ll be in the Enchanted Forest with Neal.

Maguire’s previous roles include stints on Scott & Bailey, Bedlam and Criminal Minds. He also had the starring role in a film called Prince Charming, so chances are he knows his way around a fairy tale.

Do you think Maguire can live up to Ellis’ Robin Hood?

Once Upon a Time season three premieres Sunday, September 29th at 8/7c on ABC.
