VH1 has renewed their scripted series Hit the Floor for a second season following the show’s success. The series has become one of the highest rated shows in the Monday night timeslot and was one of the top ten tweeted programs the week of July 7th in all of TV land.
VH1′s Senior Vice president of West Coast Productions and Development, Jill Holmes, made the official announcement. “We always knew that “Hit the Floor” was a strong project from the beginning and we are thrilled that so many of our viewers agree with us. With creator James LaRosa at the helm, everyone in front of and behind the camera has created a compelling, addictive series with high energy dance numbers, and we can’t wait to continue the storyline that’s made it the #1 cable show in its time period among adults.”
‘Hit the Floor’ chronicles the lifestyle of a professional basketball team and its dance squad, the notorious Devil Girls. The series stars Dean Cain (Lois & Clarke: The New Adventures of Superman), Kimberly Elise (John Q), Charlotte Ross (NYPD Blue), Taylour Paige (High School Musical 3), Logan Browning (Bratz), Valery Ortiz (On The Up), Katherine Bailess (From Justin to Kelly), Jonathan McDaniel (In The Hive), McKinley Freeman (End of Watch), Rob Riley (Single Ladies) and Don Stark (That 70’s Show).
