Hey there, Supernatural fans! Once again, we’ve come to that time of year that makes all geeks rejoice – Comic-Con! I can hardly believe that this year will be my 7th time attending the convention. It seems like just yesterday I was going there for the first time and sitting down at the Supernatural panel to see our boys take the stage. A lot has changed since that first year and instead of watching the cast and crew from many rows back (I never got in line early enough to get a seat up front), I am now interviewing them in person before they go on stage.
There’s a lot happening with Supernatural at Comic-Con 2013 so take a look at our list below and make sure you don’t miss out on any of it.
The Supernatural Panel – Sunday, July 21
The days when Supernatural was relegated to the smaller Ballroom 20 are long behind us as the cast and crew take their rightful place once again in the massive Hall H. Be sure to line up early if you want to get a seat as Hall H always fills up fast. I’m talking super-early, like maybe even pack-a-sleeping-bag-and-spend- the-night-in-line early.
Here is the info on the panel, per the official Comic-Con website.
Sunday, July 21 – 10:00am to 11:00am
Supernatural Special Video Presentation and Q&A: Series stars Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, and Mark A. Sheppard, along with executive producer Jeremy Carver return to Hall H to answer questions from the audience about what’s in store for the ninth season of this exciting series. Fans will also be treated to an exclusive video presentation featuring series highlights, as well as a portion of the special features from the upcoming Supernatural: The Complete Eighth Season DVD and Blu-ray release, in stores September 10. The ninth season of Supernatural will premiere this fall in its new Tuesday nighttime period at 9/8c on The CW.
Autographs with the Supernatural Cast
Currently, Warner Bros. has Supernatural listed on their autograph schedule for Sunday, July 21 from 12:45pm to 1:30pm. There is no information on which of the cast will be signing, but it’s a fair bet that some of the panel members should be there. If you want the chance to get an autograph, you must enter a drawing and hope that you win a ticket that will get you wrist band to get in line.
Here’s the basic rundown from the official Comic-Con website:
Rules for Line Drawings
Because of the popularity of many signings, some of which are limited by time or by the number of people the guest has agreed to sign for, those signings may be ticketed. Tickets for limited signings are distributed by drawings. To participate in the drawing, please go to the indicated line and pick a ticket out of a container. The winning tickets will have a distinct stamp on the back. Once a winning ticket has been drawn, either:
The ticket will be kept by the winner to be exchanged for access into the designated autograph line at the specified location and time.
The ticket will be exchanged for a wristband that will admit the wearer into the designated autograph line at the specified location and time.
If you do not draw a winning ticket, you may return to the end of the line to try again until all winning tickets have been drawn. One winning ticket per person, per signing.
Supernatural Warner Bros. Comic-Con 2013 Bag (with Cape!)
Warner Bros. has been giving out their famous super-size Comic-Con bags for years now and there have been a lot of Supernatural versions over the past few conventions. But this year, they’ve put a whole new twist on the bag by adding a cape to every version – yes, even the Supernatural one.
The new bags for 2013 feature a black and white image (with a splash of red) depicting the Winchesters and the Impala under a “Hunter’s Checklist” that has things on it like Hunter’s Salt, an EMF Detector and more. Every ticket holder will get a Warner Bros. bag when picking up their badge, but there’s no way to know which one you’ll get until you get there. If you don’t get a Supernatural one, you can always try trading with someone to get the one you want.
Special Edition Supernatural Comic-Con 2013 TV Guide Covers
For the second year in a row, TV Guide will be releasing special editions of the magazine with Jensen Ackles on one side of the magazine and Jared Padalecki on the other side. The magazines will be available for free at the Warner Bros. booth in the main convention hall, or on newsstands beginning July 17 for those not going to the convention.
Not going to Comic-Con? No problem!
If you weren’t lucky enough to get tickets to Comic-Con this year, you can still join in the fun through social media. A lot of the people attending the convention will be posting updates on Twitter throughout the weekend and especially on Sunday when the cast is there for the panel and autograph session. On Twitter, you can follow #SDCC and #Supernatural to keep up-to-date on any SPN happenings throughout the week.
I will be there for TV Equals all week and will be reporting live from the Supernatural press room on Sunday from around 11:30 am to 12:30pm. Things can get pretty insane in the press room, but I will do my darndest to keep you folks updated with the happenings, as well as tweeting out pictures of the cast behind the scenes.
