Former ‘View’ host Sherri Shepherd has landed a recurring gig on the final season of How I Met Your Mother. CBS has announced that Shepherd will play the role of Daphne, a woman who runs into Marshall on his flight to New York while on the way to Barney and Robin’s wedding.
“We’re all extremely excited to have Sherri Shepherd joining HIMYM for an arc in Season 9!” co-creator and executive producer Craig Thomas said. “She is hilarious and delightful and perfect for this part – we couldn’t be more thrilled!”
Shepherd joins the ranks of Wayne Brady (Let’s Make a Deal) who has also been tapped to appear in the final season of the hit comedy series. Brady will reprise his role as Barney’s brother James. Brady broke the news with fans via Twitter just last week following a fitting rehearsel.
‘How I Met Your Mother’ is scheduled to return in its ninth season this fall. Shepherd has recently been seen in ‘The Soul Man’ in the role of Nikki. The actress has also starred in the comedy series ’30 Rock’ opposite Alec Baldwin (Beetle Juice) and Tine Fey (Saturday Night Live) as Angie Jordan,the 2012 film ‘Think Like a Man’, the adaptation of Janet Evanovich’s ‘One For the Money’, ‘Hot In Cleveland’ and more.
