Shakira & Usher Confirmed For ‘The Voice’ Cycle Six May 17, 2013 News, The Voice Shakira and Usher will be returning to The Voice after all. According to Entertainment Weekly, the NBC network has secured both artists for cycle six of the singing competition. The news of both coaches plans to return comes after rumors that the duo would be finished after the current season which comes to an end in mid June. Instead Shakira, Usher, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will headline ‘The Voices’ spring edition with Adam, Shelton, Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green slated to coach the fall cycle. Shakira and Usher’s success with the NBC series’ fan base has prompted show runners to strike multiple deals in order to keep viewers happy. Meanwhile, as ‘The Voice’ continues to grow stronger, both ‘American Idol’ and ‘The X Factor’ are having judging issues of their own. Idol’s season 12 finale aired last night on Fox with the rumors already growing rampant that Niki Minaj won’t be returning next year. WRandy Jackson officially leaving the show, Idol is down to two judges, Mariah Carey and Keith Urban. If the two will be sticking around still remains to be seen. As for ‘The X Factor’, Simon Cowell and Demi Lovato will be returning for the upcoming season, but are also short two judges following the leave of both Britney Spears and L.A. Reid.
