TBS Orders ‘Ground Floor’ With Skylar Astin

The TBS network has ordered the new series Ground Floor starring actor Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect). The work place comedy will play out with corporate America in the backdrop as a young banker by the name of Brody (Astin) has a one-night stand with Jennifer (Briga Heelan). Things become awkward for Brody when he discovers that Jennifer is in charge of the maintenance of Whitestone Trust building where he works. The two will reportedly embark on a love affair that mirrors that of Romeo & Juliet.

TBS has ordered 10 episodes of the series that features a cast line-up of actor Rory Scovel (Zach Stone is Going to be Famous) in the role of the character Harvard. Jennifer’s co-workers in the building’s maintenance office will be portrayed by James Earl (Glee) as Derrick, Alexis Knapp (Pitch Perfect) as Tori with Rene Gube (Upright Citizens Brigade) on board as Brody’s colleague Threepeat. John C. McGinley (Scrubs) also stars.

‘Ground Floor’ comes from writers Bill Lawrence (Cougar Town, Scrubs) and Greg Malins (2 Broke Girls, How I Met Your Mother). The series is being produced by Lawrence’s Doozer, in association with Warner Horizon Television, with Lawrence and Jeff Ingold (Like Father) serving as executive producers.

‘Ground Floor’ will premiere on the network in 2014.
