‘The Killing’ Season 3 Trailer: There’s “A Monster on the Loose” April 29, 2013 News, The Killing The first official trailer for The Killing season three has arrived, and it’s brought with it one very scary Peter Sarsgaard. Sarsgaard exudes menace even from behind bars. Whether or not he’s the “monster on the loose,” he’s definitely no one you want to encounter in a dark alley as the poor, doomed priest in the trailer can attest to– well, at least he could if he hadn’t just been brutally murdered. Season three is set to pick up a year after the end of season two, with Linden (Mireille Enos) no longer working as a detective. However, her retirement is quickly ended by Holder (Joel Kinnaman) as we see him drawing his former partner back into the detective field by revealing the details of a case that seems awfully familiar.”Broken finger, missing jewelry?” Linden asks looking grim. It’s no wonder she looks so glum; the trailer suggests that the serial killings are connected to the case that nearly drove Linden over the edge. Eagle-eyed viewers should recognize the picture around the 20 second mark as the one that has haunted Linden since season one, the one from the case responsible for her first stint in the psych ward long before Rosie Larsen ever entered her life. If the current string of murders are connected to the photo, does that make Sarsgaard’s violent inmate the man Linden put behind bars? The Killing season three premieres special two-hour premiere airs Sunday, June 2nd at 8/7c on AMC.
