Syfy recently announced they are adding two new shows to their summer line-up: Sinbad and Primeval: New World
‘Sinbad’ follows the epic sea journey of the flawed hero Sinbad, played by newcomer Elliot Knight, who embarks on a quest to rid himself of a curse and embrace his destiny, as he is forced to flee from his home town of Basra. On board The Providence, an intriguing band of travelers is thrown together, including taciturn Norwegian sailor Gunnar (Elliot Cowan from ‘Marchlands’), agile jewel-thief Rina (Marama Corlett from ‘The Devil’s Double’), and haughty and aristocratic Nala (Estella Daniels from ‘Thorne’). ‘Lost’ star Naveen Andrews will also appear in a number of episodes of the 12-episode debut season.
‘Primeval: New World’ stars Niall Matter (‘Eureka’), Sara Canning (‘The Vampire Diaries’) and Danny Rahim (‘Eastenders’) as a team of animal experts and scientists investigating paranormal events, while battling both prehistoric and futuristic creatures. It should be noted that actress Amanda Tapping of ‘Stargate: SG-1′ and ‘Sanctuary’ fame directed several episodes of the 13-episode first season.
Mark your calendars for the debut of the British series ‘Sinbad’ and the Canadian series ‘Primeval: New World on Saturday, June 8 at 9/8c and 10/9c.
