what i liked about this episode was jane’s reaction to lorelei’s behavior. he obviously felt guilty and responsible for her actions but he tried to justify her actions by telling himself that she must have a good reason. and he was relieved when he found out for sure. so there wasn’t just a conflict between jane and lisbon but also a conflict between jane and jane.

i guess jane didn’t tell lisbon what he was doing to protect her and she wanted to know to protect him. i always thought and loved that their relationship is pure friendship and nothing more. but i would agree that there was some jealousy in lisbon when he admitted he liked her. and i think i saw a hint over more than friendship on lisbon’s side in other episodes. but the jealousy in this episode could also be explained by friendship. jane trusted lorelai more than lisbon. he didn’t trust the legal system that lisbon believes in or has to believe in.

i particularly loved the shootout scene. i thought i was brilliantly photoghraphed and directed. the way it played out felt real/realistic. compared to similar scenes on other shows i felt closer to it and enjoyed it very much.

i don’t know if lorelei was really just dumb or wanted to protect jane or maybe she just wanted to kill red john herself. but i’d like to think that she cared for jane and didn’t want him to get hurt going after red john himself or knowing his name when she failed to kill him. that would put him in more danger if red john would find out. and maybe she was supposed to seem badass by trying to kidnap someone in broad daylight and making so much noise breaking in. she felt like no one could hurt her, she worked with red john that gives you confidence. and who fears the police after meeting red john?

as for the scene between betram and the homeland security guy. i allways thought he could be red john. but i guess he is too obvously creepy. and i guess betram just wanted to show that his loyalty lies with the government by saying “we”. he wanted to put himself on the same side with HS. it seems logical that he would follow orders from above and be the loyal pet.

and btw is emmanuelle vaugier in everything? not complainig always happy to see her.
