What is that sound? Oh, it’s the legend of Misha Collins fans who are screaming for joy that their angel is coming back to the show that made him a household name – well at least a household name with the viewers of the long-running CW series Supernatural, that is.
Yep, you read that right, folks! Collins will be back as angel Castiel when the series comes back this fall for its ninth season on the air. But that ain’t all – Collins will be directing an episode in the new season too.
As fans of the series know all too well, Collins joined the series in the premiere episode of season 4 of ‘Supernatural’, being promoted to series regular the next season. Unfortunately, he was moved down to recurring status at the end of season 6, where he remained over the next two season.
‘Supernatural’ along with new hit series ‘Arrow’ and returning favorite ‘The Vampire Diaries’ were all given early renewals by The CW, as we reported here; and now the icing on the cake is that Collins will be back full time too.
Prior to his role on ‘Supernatural’, Collins had a recurring role on ’24′ and made guest appearances in TV shows like ‘NCIS’, ‘ER’, ‘Close to Home’, ‘Without a Trace’, ‘Nip/Tuck’, ‘Charmed’ and ‘Ringer’. He also had the lead role in the made-for-TV movie ‘Stonehenge Apocalypse’ and had roles in the box office films ‘Over Her Dead Body’ and ‘Girl, Interrupted’.
The next new episode of the eighth season of ‘Supernatural’ will air this Wednesday, February 27 at 9/8c on The CW.
