The upcoming TV Movie Twist of Faith premieres Saturday February 9 (8:00PM-10:00PM (ET)) on Lifetime and stars Toni Braxton, Mykelti Williamson and David Julian Hirsh.

Twist of Faith Synopsis: In Twist of Faith, Jacob Fisher, an Orthodox Jewish Cantor and amateur songwriter who resides in Brooklyn, New York, witnesses the senseless murder of his wife and three children. Catatonic, Jacob walks out on his Jewish mourning ritual, leaving behind his Jewish garments, wallet and keys. A

bandoning his identity, he wanders aimlessly, hoping somehow to understand his tragedy. Fortuitously, he lands in Brent, Alabama (population 2,500), where he is embraced by Nina, a single mother and the lead singer of a small gospel choir (an unlikely finalist in the competition to determine the best gospel choir in Alabama), her Uncle Moe and their gospel community who help his return to life while music brings Nina and Jacob together as they try to make sense of his past and their possible future.

Why do that have to put swearing in the movie? The people who are swearing are church people. I stopped watching because of that.

It was actually filmed in Vancouver, Canada, even though the fictional location is in Alabama

I loved the intricacy of messages in Twist of Faith; I watched it several times this past weekend and took away an uplifting message. I just want to know how they will move through the difference in their religions and then, of course, wonder how someone so traumatized could recover so easily in a month’s time. I’m also quite enamored of Mykelti Williamson; he always plays a warm person. Great message movie.
