Actress Aimee Garcia Promoted to Series Regular on ‘Dexter’

When the Showtime series Dexter returns for its eighth (and possibly final) season this coming summer, actress Aimee Garcia will now be a series regular, returning to play the role of young graduate student Jamie Batista, who is not only Dexter’s (series lead Michael C. Hall) nanny but also little sister to Angel Batista (David Zayas); a role that was recurring last season.

As most TV viewers know, ‘Dexter’ focuses on the a “likeable” Miami police forensics expert who just happens to moonlight as a serial killer of criminals who he believes have escaped justice.

Besides her work on ‘Dexter’, Garcia can be seen in a recurring role on the new CBS drama ‘Vegas’ and has appeared in the short-lived shows ‘Off the Map’ and Trauma’. She also spent time on the comedy side of TV, appearing in episodes of ‘George Lopez’, ‘All About the Andersons’ and ‘Greetings from Tucson’. She also had roles in the box office films ‘Spanglish’, ‘The Good Girl’ and ‘A Lot Like Love’. She will also soon be seen in the remake of the classic 1980’s film ‘Robocop’.

Showtime has yet to announce the official season premiere of ‘Dexter’, but fans should expect it to air sometime this June.
