‘The Walking Dead’ Gets A New Showrunner

AMC’s The Walking Dead has appointed a new showrunner for season 4 following the departure of Glen Mazzara. According to TV Guide, producer Scott Gimple will now be calling the shots. Gimple joined the hit zombie series back in season 2, working his way up the ladder to work side by side with Mazzara who took over for Frank Darabont after he made his exit.

As fans are aware, Gimple is now the third new show runner for the sci-fi series. Mazzara announced his decision to leave months back, citing creative differences. “Both parties acknowledge that there is a difference of opinion about where the show should go moving forward and conclude that it is best to part ways,” AMC shared in a statement previously. “This decision is amicable, and Glen will remain on for postproduction on season 3B as showrunner and executive producer.”

Scott Gimple has previously worked on the TV series ‘Flash Forward’, ‘Life’, and ‘Chase’. ‘The Walking Dead’ will return with all new episode in the second half of season 3 on Sunday, February 10 at 9/8c.
