Actress Audra McDonald, who left ‘Private Practice’ back in 2009 to return to the Broadway stage, will be back on the small screen in a guest role on the CBS drama The Good Wife.
She will play a nemesis from Alicia Florrick’s (series lead Julianna Margulies) days at Georgetown law school, finding the two going head-to-head in the courtroom. There are no details on her character’s name, at this time, but it is known that she will appear in at least one episode with the chance of coming back for more.
Besides her time on ‘Private Practice’, McDonald appeared in the short-lived TV shows ‘Mister Sterling’, ‘The Bedford Diaries’ and ‘Kidnapped’ as well as the made-for-TV movie ‘A Raisin in the Sun’. She has won 11 Tony Awards, including one from last year for her role in ‘Porgy and Bess’.
Now in its fourth season, the next new episode of ‘The Good Wife’ is expected to air on CBS on Sunday, January 27 at 9/8c. [Source: The Hollywood Reporter]
