This episode was hot garbage. However, I think the important thing to take from this storyline was Lisbon “going Jane”. I think it helps the characters become closer to each other (not romantically, though we know that’s coming) as Lisbon now understands how Jane could become so obsessed with Red John. It could make for some interesting decision making on Lisbon’s part as the Red John pursuit continues. Also, the spree of idiocy from Volker could have been done in a more thoughtful way. They attempted to show the CBI getting to him, rattling his cage, etc., but arcing that to a point where he is willing to make horrific choices is an arc that would take several episodes, not 20 minutes. Americ Ngwije Thank you for the kind words, sir. Appreciate it. On a related note, Wouldn’t it be cool if the series was actually building up to Lisbon becoming a Mentalist. So the tile of the series doesn’t actually refer to Patrick Jane but to Lisbon. #mindblown me. I LOVED your analysis! I am new to “The Mentalist” because it captivated me just this year on TNT. But WOW, did you not perfectly analyze “Little Red Corvette”. I have been watching repeats and at one point I started to think that Red John had gotten the CBI bunch when she confronted Volker denouncing this “child” problem, especially since I last saw her in the episode, where she ignored the info that Hightower was in a room at a hotel and she didn’t repond. I thought that Tommy might have been “Red John”, but alas no. I just want to see Red John caught and as you and I both know, that won’t happen until the show is finished. Too bad. Marketers are such douchbags.
