According to a report at The Hollywood Reporter, actor-musician Jesse McCartney will be joining the cast of the upcoming season of the Lifetime drama Army Wives.
He will play Private Tim Truman, a young, eager and enthusiastic soldier determined to prove himself on his first deployment. His character will also be the husband to high school sweetheart Holly Truman to be played by new series regular, Broadway star, Elle McLemore.
As we reported here two months ago, there are going to be some surprising changes coming for the upcoming seventh season, including the departure of some key players and the introduction of new faces.
Among the other new faces are singer-actress Ashanti and actress Torrey DeVitto (‘The Vampire Diaries’ and ‘Pretty Little Liars”) who will be series regulars; whereas McCartney will appear in 11 episodes of the season.
McCartney’s credits include the TV shows ‘Summerland’ and ‘Greek’ as well as the daytime soap opera ‘All My Children’. He has also provided his voice for the animated film ‘Horton Hears a Who’ the CGI-laced film ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks’ and the Cartoon Network series ‘Young Justice’. He also appeared in the failed FOX pilot to ‘Locke & Key’.
The seventh season of ‘Army Wives’ has not been given an official premiere date by Lifetime as yet, but fans should anticipate an announcement soon.
