Steve Carell’s Return For ‘The Office’ Finale Still Up In The Air January 9, 2013 News, The Office NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt is still awaiting word on whether actor Steve Carell will be returning for the series finale of The Office. Sounding unsure, Greenblatt told the attendees at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour in Pasadena this past Sunday, Jan. 6, that the return of Michael Scott is still a possibility, as shared by TV Line, but unknown. “I’m hopeful, but I don’t think [Steve] will be back. He left in the way that he wanted that character to leave,” Greenblatt stated. Adding, “There’s maybe a little hail mary pass on a cameo, but I think the decision is that he [doesn’t want to compromise] his [original] exit.” This past December, The Office’s executive producer Greg Daniels shared that he was working on “some cool story ideas” to re-introduce Carell back into the fold. “But we’re still not 100 percent sure Steve will want to participate.” The hour series finale od ‘The Office’ is rumored to take place on May 9. Mainly appearing in big screen productions these days, Carell is currently busy working on ‘Foxcatcher’, ‘Frank or Francis’ and ‘Anchorman: The Legend Continues’. Details on Carrell’s possible return should be confirmed soon. Tell us what you think Office fans. Do you want to see the crazy Michael Scott make a return? Leave us your comments below.
