‘The League’ Season 5 Announced

The League will be returning with a fifth season on the FX Network. Nick Grad, the executive vice president of original programming, made the official announcement of the comedy show’s renewal.

“The League is flat-out one of the funniest shows on television. Co-creators Jeff and Jackie Schaffer have such a perfect take on the material and the show has an amazingly talented ensemble cast of stars. Another season was an easy decision and we hope to have it on our schedule for many more years to come.”

Thrilled over the opportunity to stay with FX, Jackie Schaffer also issued a statement over continuing behind the scenes with his fantasy football series. “It’s a dream job – we get to make a show we love with a brilliant cast on a fearless network. If the Mayans and Dirty Randy are right and the world ends tomorrow, at least we can say we made it to Season 5.”

After closing out their fourth season on the network, The League’s fifth season will kick off production in the summer with 13 new episodes set to launch in the fall of 2013. Leave us your comments of the show’s pick-up below. Are you ready for another season with the gang?
