The Science Channel documentary series An Idiot Abroad with famous personalities Ricky Gervais (The Office, The Ricky Gervais Show) and Karl Pilkington (The Ricky Gervais Show, The Three Minute Wonder) has received a premiere date of Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, airing at 9 p.m. Entering into its third season, the show will continue to follow Pilkington on his wild trek around the globe, per The Hollywood Reporter.
This time ‘An Idiot Abroad’ is headed on an adventure from Italy to China with the plan to re-trace the steps of well known explorer, Marco Polo. Actor Warwick Davis of ‘Life’s Too Short’ will be joining Pilkington on the trip leaving their friend Ricky Gervais with doubts.
“This is Karl’s most epic journey so far but, despite being a seasoned traveler, he is still as angry, confused and naive as ever. At one point he seriously asks Warwick, ‘Do you have knees?’” ‘An Idiot Abroad’ returns after an entertaining second season, proving its success with 1.3 million viewers tuning into the comedy this past January. The show’s sophomore year also showed an increase in its viewership from season one.
