ABC Announces ‘Private Practice’ Series Finale December 14, 2012 News, Private Practice The ABC Network has announced the date of the final episode of Private Practice. A fixture on the network’s line-up for the last six seasons, the ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ spin off from creator Shonda Rimes will bow out on Jan. 22, 2013, per TV Line. In the final episode, entitled ‘In Which We Say Goodbye’, fans will see the return of former series regular Audra McDonald who is well known for her role as Dr. Naomi Bennett. This past August, Rhimes spoke about McDonald’s return to the series with TV Line, giving fans a few details of what they can expect to see when Naomi and Addision (Kate Walsh) re-unite. “The character deserves a happy ending. We’ve watched Addison from the beginning. She started out as one of the most hated characters on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and has grown to be this person that we really love. That character’s journey, I think, deserves a happy ending.” ‘Private Practice’ first aired on ABC back in 2007, starring actors Paul Adelstein, KaDee Strickland, Taye Diggs and Amy Brenneman.
